      The text is full of detailed and practical advice on all aspects of cooking in India. This edition includes the preface to the second edition in which the author comments that she is gratified to hear from correspondents that her book's usefulness is not confined to India but has extended to the United Kingdom.% Other editions: The first and second editions were published in India only. OPo(F) has the first edition, [Bombay: 1894]. A copy of the second edition, Calcutta: Thacker, Spink and Co, 1896, is in a British private collection.
