TERHUNE, Mrs Mary Virginia and Mrs Christine Terhune Herrick

Mrs Christine Terhune Herrick, born in 1859, was the daughter of Mrs Mary Virginia Terhune who wrote under the pseudonym, Marion Harland. See Terhune, Mrs Mary Virginia for books written solely by the mother. Christine Herrick followed closely in her mother's footsteps by writing several books on cookery and aspects of household management, most of which were issued only in the United States (Bitting 225 describes "What to eat, how to serve it" as published in New York {{and}} London in 1891; however, I have checked the title-pages of the DLC and NcD copies and, in both cases, only New York appears as a place of publication).
