"365" SERIES OF COOKERY BOOKS

  • "365" SERIES OF COOKERY BOOKS
    • 1. Dean and Son Ltd published sixteen titles in "The "365" series of cookery books": No. 1 "365 breakfast dishes"; No. 2 "365 luncheon dishes"; No. 3 "365 dinner dishes"; No. 4 "365 desserts" by an unnamed American compiler, Harriet Schuyler Nelson; No. 5 "365 breads and biscuits"; No. 6 "365 cakes and cookies"; No. 7 "365 tasty dishes" later retitled "365 supper dishes"; No. 8 "365 dishes of all nations"; No. 9 "365 vegetarian dishes" by Miss Kate Halford and Alice Model; No. 10 "365 orange dishes" by an unnamed American compiler, Mrs J. L. Lane; No. 11 "365 dishes for little cooks" by Mrs Janet Sophia Marshall; No. 12 "365 soups" by Mrs Janet Sophia Marshall; No. 13 "365 salads and savouries" by Miss Kate Halford; No. 14 "365 chafing-dish recipes" by an unnamed American compiler, Edith Harbison Baird, and edited by Mrs Janet Sophia Marshall; No. 15 "365 entrees" by Mrs Janet Sophia Marshall; and No. 16 "365 puddings and pies" by Miss Kate Halford.
Nos. 1-7 and 10 are British editions of books first published in Philadelphia by George W. Jacobs and Co. Nos. 8 and 14 were issued in the same year as their American counterparts. No. 9, "365 vegetarian dishes", and the American "365 vegetable dishes" appear to be different works sharing recipes. Nos. 11-13 and 15-16 are original British titles for which I have found no American editions.
For a description of the individual volumes, see under the author or authors, or under the title for unattributed books.
