The interesting selection of recipes includes pickled nasturtiums and birch wine. Bitting points out that the second, third and fourth pages of the index, which list medical and household remedies not in the text, are a careless reprint of an earlier work. The author's name is incorrectly spelled "Aster" on the spine.
