BUCK, Mrs Marian

EpicureDir 1899 lists this author on page 56 as President and Correspondent, North Midland School of Cookery, Leicester, and Principal of Residential School for Household and Domestic Training, Camp End, near Malvern, and gives her address as Birstall Holt, Leicester. As well as editing "North Midland School cookery book' and co-authoring "The "little housewife"", Mrs Buck wrote a 16-page pamphlet called "Simple recipes for sickroom cookery' dated [1885] by LB. She must surely also have had a hand in the publication of "Home cookery. Compiled under the direction of the North Midland School of Cookery" although her name does not appear in the book (see under the title for the entry for this work).
