CAMERON, Miss Ida

The author's introduction to the 1898 edition of "Miss Cameron's cookery book' is proof that Miss Ida Cameron of that book and Miss E. J. Cameron of the title-page of the undated edition of "Soups and stews and choice ragouts' are the same person. For in the introduction she states that it was the success of her "previous volume, "Soups and stews," which has passed through three editions" which has induced her to prepare a "somewhat more comprehensive collection of recipes'. Both EpicureDir 1899 and EpicureDir 1909 list Miss Ida Cameron. The earlier directory records her as living at 3 Hogarth Road, Earl's Court; the later directory, at Riversfield, Cole Park, Twickenham.% 0637
