The author's address in the imprint has been corrected by hand from "51, Garden Walk, Ashton-on-Ribble' to "8 Guildhall St.' She signs the preface "A. C. Ashton-on-Ribble, Preston, November, 1910."
According to the preface the book "[was] issued at the request of many pupils, both personal and correspondence, in many parts of the country.' It contains 231 numbered recipes organised in two parts, "Sweets' and "Cakes, &c., &c.'
