EpicureDir 1899 lists this author as Principal of the Practical Training School of Cookery and Housekeeping, Edinburgh, founded 1890, and with "First-Class Diploma, Cookery, National Training School, 1879; Laundry, Edinburgh School of Domestic Economy, 1880'. Her address is given as 137 George Street, Edinburgh. @Miss Griggs edited later editions of "Cookery and domestic economy for young housewives' under the new title "Chambers's cookery for young housewives'. The earliest recorded edition in EngCat was published in 1838 and the book went through many editions before Miss Griggs became editor. I have traced editions under her editorship dated 1890 (copies in LWel, LoEN and OB and a microfilm in LB), 1891 (copies in OPo(F) and ScGQ), 1892 (reported by a private collector), and 1894 (copies in LCF and OPo(F)).
