EpicureDir 1899 lists Miss Annie Nield as a teacher of cookery with a First-Class Diploma in Artisan and High-Class Cookery from the Manchester School of Cookery. The entry records her positions as "Cookery Teacher, Dobcross School, under Yorkshire County Council; Mossley Mechanics; Lancashire and Cheshire County Council; Holy Trinity Day School, Ashton-in-Lyne". Miss Mary Nield is also described in EpicureDir 1899 as a teacher of cookery with a First-Class Diploma in Artisan and High-Class Cookery from the Manchester School of Cookery, but with the additional award of First-Class Dressmaking, City and Guilds of London. Her positions are cited as "Teacher of Cookery, Dukinfield Board School; Dukinfield Unitarian School; Dukinfield Mechanics; Lancashire and Cheshire C. C.; Holy Trinity Day School, Ashton-in-Lyne'.
