      This book follows the model set by Mrs Earle's successful "Pot-pourri from a Surrey garden'. There are twelve chapters, one for each month in the year. At the end of each chapter there is a section of vegetarian recipes.
      In the preface, which is signed "Maria Theresa Earle. Woodlands, Cobham, Surrey. March 1914.', Mrs Earle explains the circumstances of the co-authors' friendship and collaboration.
