      The name of the British publisher, William Heinemann, is printed on a label mounted over the name of the American publisher, Doubleday, Page and Co. The American publisher also appears on the spine.
      There are decorative headpieces at the beginning of each chapter. The list of illustrations incorrectly places the illustration which is on page xv on page xi, and records "Fantaisie culinaire' on page iv which does not appear there nor elsewhere in the book. The reader is also misdirected in the contents to page xiii for the "Introductory" which is, in fact, on pages vii-ix.
