"Feill" means market day, feast day or holy day. In the preface the anonymous compiler thanks Miss Watson for permission to use a table from "The Samaritan cookery book' and Mr McKay for gaelic recipes from his "Highland cookery' (I have not found a copy of the latter book). Most of the recipes are credited to individuals. There is a small section on ancient cookery and gaelic recipes with translations. Proceeds from the book's sale were to go to the Highland Association which was formed in 1891.
The LoEN copy is bound in blue paper and cost 1s.
