      1. A translation, with alterations, of La Toilette de F lore by Pierre Joseph Buc'hoz (Valade, Paris, -1771). The name of the English translator is not known. The surname 'Buc'hoz' must be a French version of the German surname Buchholz or Buchholtz.
      2. The entry is based on the only known reference to the 1772 edition, which is a notice in Scots Mag., vol. 34 (Aug. 1772), p. 437
      3. The NYPL copy is part of the Whitney Cookery Collection.
