The book has four chapters, covering management of the infant immediately after birth, the feeding of children, "other accessories to the healthful development of a child' and the care of sick children. The third chapter deals with clothing, hygiene and exercise, sleep, moral and mental training. Amongst Dr. Braidwood's words of advice is the warning that "perambulators are not to be used' because of their harmful, bone-shaking effects.
