      The preface is dated 1913.
      The contents include taking a house, furnishing and decorating the various rooms and chapters on "things that get out of order' and "indoor air'. There is an appendix of furnishing costs, an index and a number of architectural plans. The reader is assumed to be a householder with sufficient means to employ several servants.
