      According to the preface, the book was "compiled from articles which have been recently inserted in the columns of The Bazaar'. The contents are summarised as "outfits, voyage and necessaries required for it, railway travelling, bungalow choosing, furnishing, management of native servants and their duties, the kitchen and recipes for various dishes, the garden and its produce, the stable and general treatment of live stock, combined with hints and suggestions on the manner of living and social customs'.
