WESTON, Miss Mary and Miss Elizabeth Silvester

EpicureDir 1899, page 104, cites Miss Mary Weston as a teacher of cookery with First-class Diplomas, High-class and Household Cookery, Birmingham and Midland School of Cookery, January 1893 and March 1894. The entry describes her as Joint Principal with Miss Silvester of Leamington School of Cookery. Her address is given as 44 Warwick Street, Leamington. @The entry on page 104 of EpicureDir 1899 for Miss Elizabeth Silvester is identical to that for Miss Weston, recording the same qualifications, position and address. As well as co-authoring the first edition of "The Leamington cookery book", Miss Silvester later wrote "Silvester's sensible cookery", London: Herbert Jenkins, [1920], revised and enlarged editions of which appeared in 1927 and 1932.
