A note on the first printed page is signed by the compilers "W. Whitelaw. C. Wallis. H. Drinkwater." It says that the book was published to raise money for church work in Wrexham and will be on sale at the bazaar on 23 May. Since the compilers also contributed recipes and signed them with their names and addresses, one knows that Mrs Whitelaw lived at 3 Grove Park, Wrexham, Mrs Wallis in Grosvenor Road, Wrexham, and Miss Drinkwater at Grosvenor Lodge, Wrexham.
