The preface is signed "F. B. J. May 1914.' This edition was probably published about 1930-1931. A publisher's advertisement preceding the half-title for "The woman's book' edited by Florence B. Jack and Rita Strauss suggests that it was issued before the later edition of "The woman's book' with a new co-editor, Philippa Preston, dated [1930]. However, it may follow the 1931 edition of "Cookery for every household', the last published by T. C. and E. C. Jack Ltd. EngCat, which cites only the first edition of 1914, gives no indication of the dates of subsequent editions.% 2222
