      In the preface the compiler says that she has published the book "with the view of aiding the efforts of the members to reduce the heavy debt on our church'.

      The LoEN copy is rebound but retains the back portion of the purple paper binding. Its pagination runs [1-6], [i] ii-xii [xiii-xiv], [1] 2-278 [279-288]. The first printed page is the half-title "Tried favourites cookery book.'%
