There are 181 numbered recipes. In the introductory note the author says, "I have compiled this little book as an assistance to those women who have nobly given their help in nursing our wounded during this war of 1914.' LoEN and OB date their copies, both acquired in May 1915, [1915]; however, LB dates the book [1914] and EngCat records September 1914 as the date of publication # certainly a quick response to the outbreak of war, aided perhaps by the fact that the cookery books by Mrs Edwards and Miss Little from which the book was compiled were issued by the same publisher, T. Werner Laurie, and helped also by what must surely be a family connection between author and publisher.
