    Mrs MacLean signs the preface "Aunt Lizzie', the pseudonym under which she wrote her recipes for "Temperance news'. The "Co' of "Aunt Lizzie and Co' on the binding refers to all those who contributed recipes to the book which was compiled for sale at the British Women's Temperance Association Bazaar held in Glasgow in October 1905.
