LoEN dates the book [1910]. The author says in the preface, ""Aunt Kate's cookery book No. 1" having run already into four editions, it was deemed advisable to publish another on the same popular lines rather than revise and add to the original one.... I determined to ring the changes on the practical, every-day nature of No. 1, and make its successor deal with more fanciful aspects of cookery and out-of-the-way dishes." No. 2 sold so quickly that, according to the introduction to "Aunt Kate's favourite recipes", a second edition was required within ten days.
