Bloodless and pure # the golden grain, bright fruits, sweet herbs, which grow for all." Sir Edwin Arnold." (Note the lack of opening quotation-marks for the first quotation.) The copyright date is on the verso of the title-page. "Bryngoleu" was the author's and her husband James Allen's seaside home on Broad Park Avenue, Ilfracombe.
