    There is an illustration on the title-page of a stewing pot over a campfire. Below it is the quotation ""Nations which live on soup are well fed."" The preface is dated 1 June 1888.
    The OB copy has an extra leaf of advertisements preceding the half-title, and eleven pages of advertisements following page 59.
    LB dates its copy [1889]. OCl dates its copy 1888 without brackets.
