    The dated preface on page 5 of the 1905 edition (see below) suggests that the first edition of this title was published in 1904.

    There are two prefaces in this edition: the "Preface to second edition' on page 3 dated Harrogate, March 1905; and the "Preface' on page 5 dated Harrogate, January 1904. The latter states that the book is "the record of purely personal experiment and observation on the lines laid down by Dr Haig'.
    The five chapters are entitled "The starchy foods versus acid', "Dinners', "Recipes', "Some aspects of nutrition' and "Additional points of interest'. There are twelve menus in the dinners chapter and thirty-eight numbered recipes in the recipes chapter.% 0265
