The following note is printed on the back of the binding: "It has been brought to the notice of the authoress that an imitation of these "Cheap recipes for fish cookery" is in circulation, called "The International Fisheries Exhibition cookery book," with which the Executive Committee of the exhibition have nothing to do. Mrs Charles Clarke... is most anxious to disclaim any connection with this book, as well as with the articles on fish cookery which appear from time to time in "The lady's pictorial newspaper", advertised in the book in question. June 1883.' (This is the only reference I have found to "The International Fisheries Exhibition cookery book' and I have yet to trace a copy.)% 1046
