    The cover-title is "Cookery recipes'. Printed on the title-page is the dedication "To those who have so kindly contributed recipes and also others who have given donations towards the printing, this little book is dedicated. November, 1909.' Below the dedication there are two quotations: ""We may live without friends, we may live without books, but civilised man cannot live without cooks." Owen Meredith. No mean woman can cook well. It calls for a generous spirit, a light hand, and a large heart. Ellen Phillpotts'.
    I have taken the year of publication from the date of the dedication. The printer appears on page 35 along with a list of those who made donations towards the cost of printing.
