Household Books Published in Britain: all volumes

  • 1. The fourteen titles in "The "Queen" cookery books" series were written by Mrs S. Beaty-Pownall. The cookery books, which make up numbers 1-13, are catalogued under the author's name. According to the prefaces, most of the recipes first appeared in the cookery columns of "The queen" newspaper. The fourteenth number, "Household hints", was published first in 1904, with a second edition following in 1910.
Each volume in the series is bound in light brown cloth. The series was sometimes sold as a set in a presentation box. One such boxed set is at LB. The title on the box is "Cabinet "Queen" cookery books".
