The book is very similar in structure to "The Ladies Delight" (1672). It is difficult to know whether this was a 'knock-off' of a popular book, a re-editing for a different, servant, audience. See following entries, especially the citation from 1655, which imply that it may be an early version, possibly the first publishing of Hannah Wooley's work, and occurring at a time when the genre was offering books in three parts. She notes that she draws on her "Ladies Directory" and "Cook's Guide"; and says she has used the "Queen's Closet", Robert May, and the "Ladies Companion" The book contains advice on serving, on cookery (material from "Cook's Guide" from 116), on medicine (from 161), and preserves and conserves (185-203). The printing is crude, with no clear chapter headings, cheap production.
