    There are two title-pages, one engraved. The frontispiece carries the title "A woman presenting the Young Woman's Guide to her servant'. The remaining engravings show methods of carving and table settings.
    In his preface the author explains that the Guide is not for children but for "young females, who have acquired the first rudiments of education', and whose education the work is evidently designed to complete.
