The author's full name, Miss Ada Ball, is found on page ii next to facsimiles of her medals. In the preface to the fourth edition, which is signed "A. Ball. 2 Lawn Villas, William Street, Herne Bay, Kent.", the author remarks, "The Indian dishes are a special feature in this book; having lived many years in India, I have the genuine recipes..." The Indian dishes are on pages 59-66. There is no indication in the text of the dates of the previous editions of this title. The accent is incorrectly placed over the last "e" in "Diplomee" on the title-page.
