In the preface to the revised edition Sabriana Boocock, Honorary Secretary, says, ""The non-alcoholic cookery book", so kindly compiled by Miss Docwra, in 1880, has passed successfully through two editions.... it has been carefully revised by Mrs W. T. Greenup.... She has rejected a few of the former recipes, and slightly altered others, supplying some new ones from her well-proven stores.' There is a remarkable recipe on page 85 for "Ivory dust jelly' made from ivory dust "obtained from any ivory turner in London or Sheffield'. The jelly "is used to give extra nourishment to other dishes'. The writer suggests adding a little to a cup of beef tea.
