    In the introduction Madame Vale1rie refers to herself as a French woman and a clergyman's wife who "came to this country [presumably England]... many years ago...." The text contains 610 numbered recipes, most with both their English and French names. The recipes are followed by menus cross-referenced to the appropriate recipes in the book. LB and OB date this edition 1884 [1883].
