The cover-title is "Easy dinners arranged for young housekeepers". The text contains 366 numbered dinner menus, one for each day in the year. In the introduction Lady Wardle explains that "these dinners are more suitable for the northern and midland counties of England than for the southern, as in the south the fish are different, and the seasons are earlier." She adds that "all recipes... except the few which are given, can be found in Mrs Beeton's "Every-day cookery book," new edition."
