  There is a preface to the third edition signed "C. F. Pitcher. 81 Grove Hill Road, Denmark Park, SE". It refers to the rapid sale of the book necessitating a third edition to which the author has "added new recipes and revised old ones". The text contains ninety-nine numbered recipes.
