The author discusses in the preface her plans for the series of which this title forms a part. She says, "I purpose to write several books at 6d each, these to embrace most of the usual courses of a recherche2 dinner, ie, hors d'oeuvres... entreme3ts.... In Book V some hints upon drawing up menus will be given, together with a few specimens of these." I have found no evidence that Books III, IV and V on hors d'oeuvres, entreme3ts and menus, respectively, were ever published.
